The covenant expresses the solemn commitment made in the presence of God and this Assembly by those who have repented, professed faith in Jesus Christ, and been baptized in water by immersion.
As we have been led by the Spirit of God to repent of our sins, and on the profession of our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, having been baptized in water by immersion in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, we do now in the presence of God and this Assembly most solemnly enter into this covenant.
Therefore, do we engage to strive for the advancement of the Church of God in knowledge and love, holiness and comfort, until we all come into the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, and unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.
The Church of God of the Union Assembly states these foundational doctrines as part of its long history, doctrinal clarity, and continued stand within the Holiness / Wesleyan tradition.
